Where do they get their words?

 I was just playing a solo game and the game played the word “TFW”  with the definition that it is an acronym for “that feeling when“. Since when do they take acronyms and if so, are all acronyms excepted?

    This is a new feature as of last Fall! WWF added 50,000 new words, including abbreviations like TFW, BFF and FOMO.

     I have to say, I think this changes the game entirely. Those aren’t actually words.  It is showing my age, but I prefer the old way where we were actually playing with words you can find in a standard dictionary.
